We firmly believe that the success of the practice is due to the partners working together as a cohesive functioning team. Each partner, whether full or part-time has an equal vote on any decision.

Workload, holidays and financial matters are dealt with very equitably. We take every step to ensure that these factors are agreed amongst the doctors which leads to really good working relationships. The work rota is allocated by a member of staff and regular checks are made to ensure that duty doctor shifts and appointments are distributed proportionately to the number of sessions worked. School holidays are agreed (and minuted) at a partners meeting at the end of the previous year. Financial arrangements are outlined clearly in the partnership agreement and any further issues are discussed and agreed at regular Partner meetings.

Whilst being a very busy and hard working practice, we also believe that work-life balance is of extreme importance for all our health and well-being. By constantly reviewing our workload and adjusting the way we work, we have managed to ensure that the working day, whilst being hectic, ends at 6pm. Our duty doctor (supported by a prescribing minor ailment nurse) has no fixed duties when covering, and deals with any queries that arise, therefore other partners routine surgeries are not interrupted or added to. We undertake extended hours, which means that one doctor does a morning surgery between 7.20am and 8am each day of the week.
